There are many essential oils that can help with digestion!
Essential Oils for Digestion
The Digestive blend is pretty much my hero! I honestly don’t know what I would do without it. There have been many times where I have said if I could only pick one oil that DigestZen would be it. But in all honesty there is no way I could ever just pick one oil! That said, this one is high on my list of must haves! I have a lot of stomach issues, I am gluten free and have cut way back on sugar but even still I cannot predict how my stomach will act from one day to the next.
How I use the Digestive Blend:
- Trouble going to the bathroom: I will put 2 drops of the digestive blend on the arch of each foot and within 10 minutes I am able to have relief.
- Feeling nauseous: I put 1-2 drops (diluted) around my belly button.
- Stomach pain: I will apply 1-2 drops (diluted) directly on the area that is bothering me.
Note: I only use ONE of the above choices at any given time.
I recommend that you dilute any oils you use, especially the first time you use them. I find that my skin can be quite sensitive to DigestZen if applied directly on my stomach so I always apply it with a little bit of grapeseed oil or fractionated coconut oil. Other Essential Oils for Digestion:
Like the digestive blend, you will want to dilute these oils prior to use. You can choose to dilute them in your hands or if it is one you plan to use often then consider making a roller bottle for easy application!
Peppermint Essential Oil:
Peppermint essential oil is one that many people use for digestive relief. Having a peppermint candy or drinking peppermint tea can help to alleviate bloating and an upset stomach and the same is true for peppermint essential oil! You can learn some other great uses for peppermint here!
Ginger Essential Oil:
Like peppermint, many people know that eating a piece of ginger or drinking ginger tea can help with digestive troubles. So of course, ginger essential oil is also an awesome choice to help ease indigestion and nausea, promote healthy digestion and support overall digestive health.
Lemongrass Essential Oil:
This is a great oil for supporting overall digestive health! You can learn more about how lemongrass helps with digestion and learn about many other wonderful uses here!
Fennel Essential Oil:
If you have ever smelled the digestive blend, you will have noticed a scent similar to black licorice. Fennel is one of the oils in the digestive blends that contributes that scent! Fennel is great for helping to relieve indigestion and other uncomfortable symptoms related to indigestion.
