DIY Lavender Essential Oil Foot Scrub Pods

What You Need:

  • 1/2 cup finely grated shae butter soap (or any other natural soap!)
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, measured solid
  • 1 cup Himalayan bath salts (can sub with Epsom salt)
  • 15 drops lavender essential oil (or essential oil of choice)
  • 1 tablespoon dried lavender flowers (optional)
  • Silicone cube or circle tray

How To Make These Essential Oil Foot Scrub Pods:

1. Measure and prep all your ingredients.

2. Combine the soap and oil in a double boiler over medium heat and melt. Stir every so often but know that the soap won’t melt fully. You’ll know it’s done (about twelve to fifteen minutes) when the oil is melted but the soap still looks slightly “chunky”.

3. While the mixture is melting, place the salt in a large bowl and add in the lavender. Mix to combine.

4. If using dried lavender, distribute them into the bottom of the molds. This just makes the top of the scrubs look pretty.

5. Once your oil mixture is “melted” pour it into the bowl of salt and mix with a fork until all of the salt is coated and wet looking.

6. Using a spoon, portion and press the sugar scrubs into the molds.

7. Then, use a spoon or silicone spatula to firmly press the mixture down (press down hard so they hold together).

8. Place the molds in the fridge for thirty minutes to set.

 Recipes Notes:

1. Grate the soap on the fine part of the grater. It doesn’t fully melt so you want it to be small

2. Most recipes use sugar for scrubs because it’s soft. However, because this is a designated foot one I went with salt so that it provides a bit more of exfoliation!

3. Regular Epsom salt will work, the pink salts just looked prettier.

Yield: Makes 12 pods depending on the size of the molds.

There you have it! Easy to make DIY Lavender Essential Oil Foot Scrub Pods! I hope you enjoy them!
