Essential Oil Skin Moisturizer Recipes for Beautiful Hydrated Skin
I am sure I am biased but I love my moisturizing body butter! One piece of advice: be sure to apply the body butter before bed. It is very greasy so applying it and then getting dressed is not a great idea. Also a little bit goes a LONG way so start with a small amount and add more if you need it. We use this hand soap all the time in our home and it works very well. My husband is a very frequent hand washer and this is on of the few soaps that doesn’t dry out his hands. I would recommend using lavender essential oil in the recipe during the winter months to help keep your skin moisturized. You can get the recipe for my foaming hand soap here.
I don’t know if most of you would count lips as ‘skin’ but for me this is a must have recipe that I use frequently in the winter!
To make my lip scrub you need:
- 3 TBSP sugar (you can use white or brown sugar)
- 2 TBSP of a carrier oil (I recommend fractionated coconut oil or jojoba oil)
- 2-3 drops of essential oil of your choice – I usually use lavender
- Small glass storage container
How to Make It:
Combine the sugar with the carrier oil. Stir and add 2-3 drops of an essential oil of your choice. Stir one more time and voilà, you are done!
I would recommend using this no more than 3 times per week as frequent use could irritate your lips due to the course-ness (I’m sure it’s a word :p ) of the sugar.
