Essential Oil Sugar Scrub
What You Need:
- 1 cup of white sugar
- 1/4 cup of a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil, fractionated coconut oil, sweet almond oil or olive oil. I used grapeseed oil
- 6 drops of the essential oil of your choice (I used lavender)
- 1 TBSP of dried lavender (optional)
- A glass jar for storage
How to Make the Scrub:
1) Pour the sugar & dried lavender into a mixing bowl. Break down any sugar clumps with a spoon.
2) Add the oil and essential oil of your choice to the sugar.
3) Fold the ingredients together until it is well mixed.
4) Pour the mixture into a glass jar for storage until you are ready to use it!
5) Enjoy!
It really is super simple to make this scrub!
Essential Oil Suggestions:
The essential oil you choose to use in your scrub will vary based on the outcome you are hoping to have. Here are some suggestions:
Relaxation: I would suggest using oils such as lavender, cedarwood or orange essential oil
Invigorating: Use a citrus oil such as lemon, lime, grapefruit, bergamot or orange. Here are some safety precautions to consider when using citrus essential oils.
Energy: Use 3 drops of peppermint and 3 drops of orange in your scrub to help give you an energy boost while making your skin super soft!
Of course, you are able to use any essential oil you would like, these are just some suggestions. If you choose to use more than 1 essential oil in your scrub, just make sure the total doesn’t exceed 6-8 drops of essential oil… less is more!
Storing Your Recipe
Now that you have the recipe, where do you plan to store it? On a scrap of paper? Pinterest? Written on whatever was near you at the time? I was always finding great essential oil recipes but didn’t have a place to store them! This resulted in scraps of paper that often got lost or pinterest pins that got buried on my boards.
