Essential oils are traditionally used in aromatherapy and nowadays have also become a great addition to many green cleaning products. Apart from this, they have anti-fungal and antibacterial properties, thanks to which they play a major role for a wide range of cleaning procedures.
Essential oils offer wonderful scents that lift your mood and boost the immune system and they often tend to be one of the most cost-effective ways in which to create a wonderful homemade cleaning product. Adding a few drops of the essential oil to the cleaner will do wonders and what’s more, these magical and natural oils will provide fascinating scent to all of your rooms.
Here is an all-purpose cleaner that you can add essential oils to and use in various rooms of your home:
Perfect All Purpose Cleaner
Before you try the most amazing essential oils, you need this wonderful all-purpose cleaning recipe that will help you to clean a wide range of surfaces at home. Here are the basic ingredients that you will need:
- 20 drops of your favourite essential oil
- 3 teaspoons of Castile Liquid Soap
- 1 cup of Water
- A Glass Spray Bottle
You need to pour all the ingredients into the spray bottle and to shake carefully before applying it to surfaces. After cleaning, remember to store the spray bottle in a darker place, otherwise the essential oil will oxidize.
Essential Oils for Cleaning
Below you will find some of the most common essential oils that are typically found in the eco-friendly cleaning products. Do not hesitate to try them – they are all a wonderful addition to your green cleaning kit.
Lavender Essential Oil

I love essential oils. I use them everyday and different ones. My favorite for cleaning is tea tree oil.

I have yet to get into the essential oils bandwagon but I love the cleaner idea. I use castille soap but never thought to use it as a cleaner. And can just imagine if I combine it with lavender or tea tree oil how clean smelling my bathroom will be.

Peppermint and sweet orange essential oil I am going to have to get for cleaning. Them are the two scents I love the most besides melon of course. The Castle oil soap I am going to have to get for cleaning since I have heard so many good things about it. Thanks for sharing.

I use vinegar and water with Pepermint oil to clean all my floors. My house smells so amazing after and the vinegar and pepermint oil are bith deodorizing and disenfecting.

I have 2 teenage boys,ALL their friends, 2 big dogs, and 2 cats. Oils are a game changer!
