Self-care doesn’t need to be extravagant or expensive to be beneficial. Self-care is about taking time to slow down and breathe and can be anything that brings you joy, gives you pleasure or renews your body and mind.
I promise if you’re able to find something that gives you moments of peace and calm, especially in today’s world of busyness and responsibilities, that’s called taking care of yourself. It should come as no surprise that essential oils do that for me.
I want to show you that you can treat yourself, reenergize and enjoy something just for you in a real and practical way. I thought I’d share a few ways that you can use essential oils for easy self-care.
Essential Oils for Self Care
1) Wear It:
When you add a few drops of essential oils to a diffuser necklace, bracelet or scarf you’re getting both the benefit from the oils and the pleasure of treating yourself to something special. It’s a fun way to enjoy essential oils anytime of the day and I find it especially useful during the workday. Give yourself an excuse to accessorize.
2) In a Bath:
One of my favorite ways to enjoy a bath is with the addition of a luxurious blend of essential oils. The possibilities are endless and the benefits are many; whether you want to detox the body, relax the mind or comfort troublesome skin essential oils have you covered. Skip the chemicals in those store-bought bath foams and I promise your body will thank you for it.

3) Skin Care:
Essential oils can moisturize, comfort and brighten skin as well as any spa treatment. I’m sure you can appreciate being able to treat yourself without having to book an appointment.
Essential Oil Skin Care Recipes
Face Mist: In a 4oz amber spray bottle combine 1 tsp. Witch Hazel + 3 drops Geranium + 2 drops Sandalwood + 2 drops Lavender with ½ cup Rose Water and shake gently.
Face Scrub: in a 2oz glass jar combine ¼ cup Brown Sugar + 3 Tbsp Olive Oil + 4 drops Lavender or Chamomile + 2 drops Frankincense and mix well.
Just because it’s popular doesn’t mean you should overlook its importance. Aromatherapy is more than just a nice aroma; essential oils have psychological benefits and have been used for ages to alter mood and improve health and well-being. I’m a believer in aromatherapy and encourage you to take a few minutes of ‘me’ time every day to experience essential oils. You can capture the scent directly from a bottle or by adding them to your diffuser
