I personally LOVE melissa essential oil! Although it is more expensive than others, it's one I love thanks to its many benefits which are shared here! #essentialoils #melissa #melissaessentialoil #essentialoilbenefitsMelissa essential oil (also known as Lemon Balm) has a beautiful, sweet lemony fragrance and its many properties make it highly desirable. Melissa oil is the first choice for calming nerves and reducing tension; Melissa supports a healthy immune system and can also soothe stomach discomfort.

 

Although this is a pricey essential oil, it’s on I absolutely LOVE! If you haven’t tried it already, I think you should get a bottle – or borrow a few drops from a friend to try it first!

Melissa essential oil is well-tolerated and a wonderful oil for those with sensitive noses. Here are 10 of the best ways you can use Melissa essential oil:

 

1. Use in a roller bottle blend for stress-relief and emotional support

Roller bottles (or roller balls) are an easy, portable and cost-effective way of enjoying essential oils. Melissa when rubbed on the forehead, shoulders or chest can ease nerves and release tension. Provides strong emotional comfort in times of grief.

2. Diffuse to awaken the mind and body

Through aromatherapy, Melissa essential oil provides a focused energy and wakes up the mind. It has uplifting properties that will lift the soul and counter feelings of hopelessness. 

3. Spritz on face to rejuvenate the skin

Fill a spritz bottle with water and add a few drops of Melissa essential oil to refresh and energize the mind while rejuvenating skin. One of my favorite ways to use Melissa, it truly is a treat for your skin.

4. Use on the lips to soothe and comfort irritations

Combine Melissa essential oil with Coconut oil and Shea for a repairing lip balm/oil that can comfort breakouts, sun exposure and other lip irritations. Melissa essential oil is wonderfully soothing when applied to the lips and can help the healing process.

5. Make a DIY spray to use as an insect repellant

Fill an 8-ounce spray bottle with water and add 10 drops of Melissa and 5 drops of Basil essential oils. Shake well and spray generously for protection against annoying insects.

6. Inhale for self-love, confidence and immune support

The effects of Melissa essential oil can be enjoyed with an inhaler or by applying to a piece of cloth and inhaling the aroma; a handkerchief is a great alternative.

7. Use in a bath to fight fatigue and irritability

Melissa essential oil can be sedating and is used in the bath to relax and calm nerves; it comforts the body and mind when feeling extreme exhaustion. Combine a few drops with Epsom salts for an effective and soothing bath soak. If you’re feeling fatigued and need comfort and a boost you can combine 1-2 drops of bergamot, peppermint and melissa essential oil with epsom salts! 

Safety Note: ALWAYS mix your essential oils with epsom salts or bubble bath/soap. Never add the oils directly to water.
